ARHI Highlights Importance of Diversity and Inclusion in Clinical Trials at Naples Event Featuring Dr. Perez

Naples, Florida — Tuesday March 31st, 2026 — ARHI hosted a meaningful discussion on the importance of diversity and inclusion in clinical trials during a recent event held at The Social Hampton in Naples. The gathering brought together clinical research professionals, community stakeholders, and healthcare advocates to explore strategies for improving representation in clinical research and ensuring equitable access to innovative treatments.

The event featured remarks from Dr. Perez, who emphasized that diverse participation in clinical trials is essential to advancing safe and effective therapies for all populations. Dr. Perez highlighted that historically underrepresented communities often face barriers to participation, including lack of awareness, mistrust, transportation challenges, and limited outreach from research institutions.

“Clinical trials must reflect the real-world populations that will ultimately use these therapies,” Dr. Perez noted. “When diversity is prioritized, we improve the quality of science, strengthen patient safety, and ensure that medical breakthroughs benefit everyone.”

Attendees engaged in discussions focused on practical approaches to increasing inclusion, including community-based engagement, culturally competent communication, multilingual recruitment materials, and partnerships with local healthcare providers. The conversation also underscored the importance of building long-term trust within communities and removing logistical barriers that may prevent participation.

During the event, investigators also presented currently enrolling clinical trials and shared opportunities for collaboration with community providers. ARHI extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Leonard Lado, Dr. Tracey Roth, and Dr. Shahzaib Mirza for presenting their actively enrolling studies and discussing participation opportunities with attendees.

ARHI also thanks the Nurse Practitioner Council of Naples for their participation and engagement in the discussion. Their involvement helped strengthen the dialogue around improving access to clinical trials and advancing inclusive research within the local healthcare community.

ARHI leadership reiterated its commitment to advancing equitable research practices and expanding access to clinical trials across diverse populations. By fostering collaboration between investigators, sponsors, and community organizations, ARHI aims to support studies that better represent the populations most impacted by disease.

The event concluded with networking opportunities and a call to action encouraging stakeholders to implement inclusive recruitment strategies in upcoming studies and to continue advocating for diversity as a core component of clinical research excellence.
