Dr. Antonio Gonzalez | Meet the Physicians of Advanced Research for Health Improvement (ARHI)

Antonio Gonzalez, M.D.

Dr. Antonio Gonzalez is a general practitioner, or GP, in Immokalee, FL, offering comprehensive medical care for patients of all ages. Dr. Gonzalez graduated from Eugenio Maria De Hostos University of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 1994. He became a registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in New Jersey from 1998 to 2000. He completed a year internship at the Christ the Redeemer Hospital in Guayama, Puerto Rico.

Dr. Arthur Labovitz is a recognized expert in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease and clinical research. His areas of expertise include cardiovascular imaging, valvular heart disease, atrial fibrillation and antithrombotics, diastolic heart failure, TEE and stroke.

Domingo Feliciano, M.D.

Dr. Domingo A. Feliciano, MD, DABFP, is a board-certified Family Physician and Clinical Investigator with more than four decades of experience in family medicine, preventive care, and clinical research. As the founder and lead physician of Bonita Family Care in Bonita Springs, Florida, he has dedicated his career to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while advancing medical knowledge through active participation in clinical trials. His expertise spans chronic disease management, women’s health, wound care, and preventive medicine, with a strong focus on cardiovascular, metabolic, and community health.
Throughout his career, Dr. Feliciano has combined his dedication to primary care with a robust commitment to clinical research. He has served as Principal Investigator for numerous multi-center studies, particularly in the areas of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. By collaborating with leading pharmaceutical sponsors, he has contributed to the development of innovative therapies that aim to improve patient outcomes and expand treatment options for complex chronic conditions.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Feliciano has held leadership roles directing outpatient and emergency clinic operations, mentoring clinical staff, and implementing quality improvement initiatives. His career reflects a balance of hands-on patient care and research excellence, underscored by his adherence to FDA and Good Clinical Practice standards.

Hector J. Cordero, M.D.

Dr. Hector J. Cordero is a pediatrician in Naples, Florida. He received his medical degree from the Autonomic University of Santo Domingo and has been in practice for more than 35 years. He provides primary care for children of all ages, from babies to teenagers. He has been a Principal Investigator for Advanced Research for Health Improvement since 2017 having conducted numerous clinical trials involving multiple pediatric medical disciplines.

Humberto A. Liriano, M.D.

Humberto A. Liriano is a board-certified pediatrician with extensive expertise in emergency medicine, critical care, and public health. Currently serving as Chief Medical Officer of Horizon West Pediatrics Center in Winter Garden, Florida, he also practices as a pediatric emergency physician across leading healthcare systems in Florida and Louisiana. With over two decades of medical and academic experience, Dr. Liriano has held key leadership roles, including Pediatric Medical Director and Chair of Pediatric Critical Care, and has dedicated his career to advancing evidence-based care that improves patient outcomes.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Liriano is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Critical Care and Emergency Medicine at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, where he contributes to the training of the next generation of physicians. His research interests include pediatric asthma management, critical care sedation, and novel therapies for severe neurological and infectious conditions. Recognized nationally for his contributions, he has earned awards such as the American Academy of Pediatrics Resident Scholarship and the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital Resident of the Year.

A fluent Spanish speaker with conversational proficiency in French and Japanese, Dr. Liriano brings a global and inclusive perspective to medicine. His diverse academic background includes a Doctor of Medicine from St. Christopher’s College of Medicine, a Master of Public Health from the University of Southern California, and a Master of Arts in Economics from Fordham University. Combining clinical leadership with public health expertise, Dr. Liriano remains committed to advancing pediatric emergency care, strengthening healthcare systems, and championing health equity. Dr. Liriano has been a valued member of ARHI’s distinguished team of investigators since 2024.

Dr. Julian J. Javier is a board-certified Interventional cardiovascular specialist in private practice in Naples, Florida. He did his cardiovascular specialty at Saint Louis University and his Interventional Cardiology specialty at University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock Arkansas. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and in interventional Cardiology and is fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.

Dr. Leonard Lado | Meet the Physicians of Advanced Research for Health Improvement (ARHI)

Leonard Lado, M.D.

Dr. Leonard Lado is the Founder and Medical Director of Lado Healing Institute, one of the largest Independent Psychiatry practices in Southwest Florida and has over 32 years of experience in the medical field. Lado Healing Institute is a treatment center for non-Methadone Detox, Oxycontin and Pain Killer Addiction, Cocaine Addiction, Alcohol dependence, and Crystal Meth Addiction using state-of-the-art outpatient Suboxone medication treatments.

Luis J. Barata, M.D.

Luis J. Barata, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, brings a unique blend of medical and nursing expertise to his work as a family nurse practitioner and clinical researcher. Trained first as a physician in Havana and Santiago, Chile, and later as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Miami, he has built his career on a foundation of compassionate care, lifelong learning, and dedication to improving patient outcomes. His dual background allows him to connect with patients on a personal level while applying a broad range of clinical knowledge to guide their care.

Over the past two decades, Luis has cared for patients across many settings, from primary care clinics and home health to hospice and specialty medicine. He has held leadership roles such as Director of Nursing, worked in major health systems like Lee Memorial, and now serves patients in Southwest Florida through Riverside Family & Lifestyle Medicine, Allied Medical of SW Florida, and other practices. His experience extends internationally as well, having served as a physician and medical director in family medicine and dialysis centers in Chile and Cuba.

In addition to his clinical work, Luis is actively involved in advancing medicine through research. As a Sub-Investigator with Advanced Research for Health Improvement, he contributes to clinical trials in areas such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s, vaccines and infectious diseases. He is board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine, emphasizing prevention and wellness alongside treatment. Fluent in both English and Spanish, and a proud member of organizations including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Luis remains committed to providing whole-person care while helping bring new therapies to the patients who need them most. Dr. Barata has been a valued member of ARHI’s distinguished team of investigators since 2019.

Jose M. Campoamor, M.D.

Doctor Jose M. Campoamor is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and Pain Management Specialist practicing in Naples since 1972. Doctor Campoamor received his Medical Degree from University of Santiago in Santiago, Spain in 1965. He later completed his Internship at University of Miami School of Medicine in 1968. From 1970-1972 he completed a Fellowship in Cardiology at UM School of Medicine, Miami VA Healthcare System. In 1972 he completed his residency in Anesthesiology from UM School of Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Doctor Campoamor was the Owner and President of Florida Pain Specialists in Naples, Florida from 1996 until he sold his practice in 2021. Doctor Campoamor has been a Principal Investigator for Advanced Research for Health Improvement since 2017, and has participated in more than 15 Clinical Trials. Doctor Campoamor has been a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists since 1975, and a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians since 1998.

Ricardo Martinez, M.D.

Doctor Ricardo Martinez is an Internal Medicine physician practicing in Naples, Florida. Dr. Martinez is the owner and founder of Well-Being Medical Center. He received his doctorate degree from the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba in 2000. Dr. Martinez completed his Internal Medicine Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, NY in 2013. He has held several Hospitalist positions, most recently with NCH Physicians Group from 2015-2020. Dr. Martinez specializes in Internal Medicine and Metabolic Diseases. He has been affiliated with the American Heart Association and the American College of Physicians since 2010. He has been a Principal Investigator for Advanced Research for Health Improvement since 2021.

Shahzaib Mirza, M.D.

Dr. Shahzaib Mirza, MD, is a compassionate and dedicated pediatrician with over eight years of experience in child development, preventive health, urgent care, and intensive care medicine. As the Owner and Medical Director of Starz Pediatrics in Estero, Florida, he leads a state-of-the-art facility serving patients across Lee, Collier, and surrounding counties. Dr. Mirza combines his clinical expertise with strong leadership skills, overseeing medical care, operational efficiency, and team development to ensure the highest standard of pediatric services. His career is marked by a deep commitment to patient education, cultural awareness, and fostering healthy habits in children from infancy through adolescence.

 

Prior to establishing Starz Pediatrics, Dr. Mirza served as a Staff Pediatrician at the Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida, where he provided comprehensive care, from newborn support to adolescent wellness, while mentoring medical students and residents. His pediatric residency at Florida Hospital South (Walt Disney Pavilion) in Orlando included specialized externships in emergency medicine, orthopedic surgery, and pediatric general surgery, both in the U.S. and internationally. Fluent in English, Spanish, Urdu, and Punjabi, Dr. Mirza is an active member of professional organizations including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Florida Medical Association. His interests extend to emergency management, medical flight transport, fitness, and multicultural engagement, reflecting his holistic approach to healthcare and community service.

Tanvir M. Dara, M.D

Dr. Tanvir Dara, MD is an Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine specialist in SWFl area, and has more than 38 years of experience in the medical field. Dr. Dara graduated from the King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan in 1985. He worked in Midlothian, VA and 15 other locations before moving to SW Florida. After spending many years as an emergency physician and holding many leadership positions in both specialties and urgent care, he recognized the need for a better way to help people continue to lead fulfilling and active lives. He is a firm believer in regenerative medicine and the positive impact it can have on patients. Dr. Dara’s passion for helping people made his choice to be part of QC Kinetix an obvious one. Dr. Dara is a long-time resident of the community, where he is the medical director of the QC Kinetix locations in Fort Myers and Naples. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, hiking and volunteering with the Neighborhood Health Clinic of Naples. Dr. Dara is one of ARHI esteemed Principal Investigators specializing in Pain Management and regenerative medicine.

Tracey Roth, M.D.

Dr. Tracey Roth is an Interventional Cardiologist and Vascular Medicine physician who obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Haifa University in Israel in 1989. Dr. Roth completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida from 1989-1992 and his Fellowship in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology from 1992-1995. Dr. Roth is Board Certified in Internal Medicine since 1992, Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases since 1995, and Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology since 1992. He is the recipient of numerous awards including The NCH Physician of the Year Honoree in 2018 and the Carl Liebert Physician Leadership Award in 2018. Dr. Roth has been a Fellow Member of the American College of Cardiology since 1996.
