Dr. Arthur Labovitz
Dr. Arthur Labovitz is a recognized expert in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease and clinical research. His areas of expertise include cardiovascular imaging, valvular heart disease, atrial fibrillation and antithrombotics, diastolic heart failure, TEE and stroke.
Dr. Labovitz completed his undergraduate training at Pennsylvania State University and graduated from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his Cardiology fellowship at St. Louis University. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, is board certified by the Subspecialty Board in Cardiovascular Diseases, Nuclear Cardiology, and the National Board of Echocardiography. He is a Fellow of the American Heart Association, the American Society of Echocardiography, the American College of Cardiology, and the American College of Physicians.
He served as Chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences at the Morsani college of Medicine at the University of South Florida and the Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology at Tampa General Hospital. He has previously served as the Director of the Division of Cardiology and director of the Cardiovascular Fellowship programs at St Louis University. He received the American Heart Association’s Hugh McCulloch Award in 2007 for outstanding contributions to the treatment of heart disease and was the recipient of an Endowed Chair in Cardiology in 2008, among multiple honors.
He has held multiple leadership positions, including President of the National Board of Echocardiography, chairman of the American Society of Echocardiography Education committee and Scientific Sessions, and president of the St Louis region, and the Tampa Bay division of the American Heart Association.
He also serves on the editorial boards of multiple medical journals and national committees. He continues to chair the national Board Certification committees in Critical Care and Adult Echocardiography. Dr. Labovitz has published over 300 scientific abstracts, articles and book chapters. Dr. Labovitz is a respected clinician, listed in the Best Doctors in America in the specialty of cardiology for over 20 years.
Dr. Labovitz has been Principal Investigator for Advanced Research for Health Improvement overseeing cardiac studies since 2020.
