Ronny R. Valenzuela, M.D.

Dr. Ronny R. Valenzuela is a psychiatrist with more than two decades of experience in adult psychiatry, emergency psychiatric care, crisis intervention, and behavioral health management. He currently practices in Naples, Florida, where he provides comprehensive psychiatric care for adults experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions, including major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other complex psychiatric disorders.

Dr. Valenzuela earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Institute of Technology of Santo Domingo (INTEC) in the Dominican Republic and completed postgraduate training in General Psychiatry at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Department of Psychiatry. His educational background also includes training in public health, providing him with a broad perspective on patient-centered mental healthcare.

Throughout his career, Dr. Valenzuela has held leadership and clinical positions across multiple healthcare settings. He currently serves patients through his private psychiatric practice and provides psychiatric services through the Veterans Affairs healthcare system in Naples, Florida. Prior to these roles, he served as Senior Psychiatrist at the David Lawrence Mental Health Center, where he specialized in crisis stabilization, emergency psychiatric evaluations, Baker Act assessments, medication management, and detoxification services. He also practiced at NCH Hospital, providing inpatient consultations, treatment planning, and psychiatric care in both medical and emergency settings.

Known for his compassionate approach and commitment to evidence-based care, Dr. Valenzuela works collaboratively with primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to help patients achieve improved mental wellness and quality of life. His extensive experience across outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and veteran care settings enables him to provide individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Dr. Valenzuela has been a Principal Investigator for Advanced Research for Health Improvement since 2017, overseeing numerous clinical trials in the Psychiatry field.
